Tampa’s Moffitt Cancer Center welcomes experienced fundraiser Maria Muller as executive vice president.

TAMPA — Moffitt Cancer Center has hired Maria Muller as its executive vice president, chief philanthropy officer and foundation president.

According to a press release, Muller will advance and execute the strategic vision for philanthropy at Moffitt. Her duties will include working with the center’s executive leadership to identify and define fundraising goals and priorities.

“Maria’s range of experiences, leadership skills and impeccable character make her a perfect fit to lead the Moffitt Foundation at an important time of transition,” states Alan List, president and CEO of Moffitt Cancer Center, in the release. “We are pleased to welcome Maria to our Moffitt team and have her lead our philanthropic efforts.”

With more than 20 years of experience in fundraising and development, Muller comes to Moffitt from Boston, where, the release states, she was deputy director of the city’s Museum of Fine Arts, and most recently consulted with the Harvard Art Museums. She spent the earlier part of her career in development at The British Museum and The National Gallery in London.

“I am thrilled to be joining such a deeply mission-driven organization that is having a significant impact on cancer care and research,” Muller states in the release. “It’s a tremendous honor to be leading a team that is building ever-greater philanthropic support to improve cancer outcomes and move closer to a cure.”
