FORT MYERS — Jeff Richards and Jeanette Dean Richards, president and vice president of steel building contractor and erector Better Buildings Inc.  for over 25 years, recently purchased 100% of the decades-old company from the former owners, the Dean family.

Terms of the acquisitions weren’t disclosed. The transaction was finalized in the fourth quarter last year, according to a statement.

The Richards have already begun to expand Better Buildings’ existing general contracting and design build services. Joined by their son Jeffrey, named a job superintendent, the couple will also continue to build, repair and grow the metal building contracting side of BBI, the release states.

“We’re elevating this timeless, multigenerational contracting company,” Jeff Richards says in the statement. “With the same personalized, family, full-service contracting our public and private sector clients have come to expect, Better Buildings is capitalizing on its in-demand specialties and taking on national builds that everyone will benefit from and experience in their own way.”

Better Buildings, originally part of Dean Steel Buildings Inc., a metal building manufacturing firm, specializes in small repairs, large interior build-outs and complete turnkey commercial projects.
