LONGBOAT KEY — A Longboat Key home sold for $12.5 million yesterday. The sale represents just the fifth $10 million-or-more home sale in the past 10 years, according to FloridaMoves.com.
The home is a 12,000-square-foot property on 1.3 acres of land, with 150 feet of beachfront, according to Coldwell Banker, which represented the buyer. Located within the Regents Court community at 825 Longboat Club Road, the property has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and three kitchens.
Sellers Eva and Siegfried Schulte have lived in the home since 2002. Coldwell Banker did not name the buyer, saying only that he or she is “from Europe.”
The transaction represents the highest-priced residential real estate sale in Longboat Key history, and the third-highest in Sarasota County history, Coldwell said.
