BUYER: Lee County, Fort Myers

SELLER: North Crossroads Ventures Inc.

PROPERTY: 2805 N. Tamiami Trail, North Fort Myers

PRICE: $939,631.55

PREVIOUS PRICE: $1.71 million, August 2005

LAW FIRM ON DEED: Duncan & Associates PA, Fort Myers

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Lee County purchased 9.88 acres between U.S. 41 and Business U.S. 41 for $939,631.

The price equated to $95,104 per acre.

The property was purchased as a future pond site for water retention and collection. The county needed the retention for the eventual widening of Business 41 from Littleton Road to U.S. 41.

There are no current plans to move forward on those transportation improvements, according to Robert Clemens, land acquisition manager for Lee County. “This was bought based on our future needs,” he says. The purchase was funded through impact fees.
