MANATEE COUNTY — Medallion Home set company records in the first quarter for total sales volume and number of houses sold.

The new homebuilding firm sold 85 homes in the quarter, according to a release, for sales volume worth $27.2 million.

“Foot traffic has been really strong so far this year, which is typically a precursor to sales,” Medallion Home Sales and Marketing Director Gregg Glasser states in a release. “Our clients are taking advantage of historically low interest rates, which is a real benefit to them as costs across the board continue to increase. We're hopeful this year's long winter up north will help maintain the momentum that's been built up.”

Medallion Home, which builds in several Manatee County communities, in addition to Mount Dora, is one of several local homebuilding firms that had strong first quarters. Lakewood Ranch-based Neal Communities set at an all-time monthly record for sales in March, with 91, according to a separate release. The firm says it sold 81 new homes in February.
