Business panel helps

students attain next level

A panel of nine area business people met with more than 40 Manatee Community College students in a Feb. 28 career forum at the college's Venice campus.

Participants learned about the University of South Florida's transfer requirements, employment opportunities, career paths, available financial aid, salary ranges, the hiring process and how to set and achieve goals. Panel members included Mark Hardin, with Modern Woodman of America; Dean McConvill, Ron Smith State Farm Insurance; Nancy Schlesinger, Home Depot; Edward Cole and Nakia Strong, Bank of America; Susan Hanks, Peacock and Co. PA; Susan Freeman and Jay Schrock, University of South Florida; and Laurine Gauthier, Almar Century 21.
