ST. PETERSBURG —Another Sembler is joining the family business.

Eve Sembler has been named as vice president of leasing at The Sembler Co., the St. Petersburg shopping center developer.

The company, which Sembler’s grandfather Mel Sembler founded in 1962, specializes in grocery-anchored retail centers.

In total, the firm has developed more than 350 projects, encompassing 29 million square feet and another 10 million or so square feet of leased and managed space in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

A top client is Publix, for which the company has built more than 50 centers. It’s also done work for Winn-Dixie, as well as CVS and Walgreens, among other build-to-suit clients.

Sembler comes to the business after working as vice president of national accounts at Brixmor Property in New York. In that position, she oversaw more than 90 accounts as well as the marketing, negotiating and delivery of more than 200 outparcel leases.

Sembler is the daughter of Greg Sembler, the firm's CEO.

In an interview with the Business Observer last year, Greg said he was looking forward to Eve joining the company in an executive role.

In a statement announcing her hiring, he says Eve “has prepared herself so well and is more than capable of hitting the ground running.”

She starts Sept. 9.
