Suffolk, one of the largest and building contractors in Florida, recently named Charlie Rollins executive vice president of South Region operations. The position is a return to Suffolk for Rollins, who was a project manager for the $5 billion national builder from 2002 to 2004.

Rollins will be responsible for directing Suffolk personnel on job sites and regional offices throughout the Southeast U.S., according to a statement. That includes offices in Estero, Collier County and Tampa. In his new role at Suffolk, Rollins, the release states, will apply his expertise in managing complex, high-profile projects — a task he’s familiar with: He most recently oversaw Water Street Tampa, a transformative $3.5 billion mixed-use development in downtown Tampa, working for developer Strategic Property Partners. Rollins was a construction executive for SPP for five years.

“I am thrilled to work alongside Charlie as we continue strengthening our leadership team in Florida,” says Peter Tuffo, the president and general manager of Suffolk Southeast, in a statement. “Charlie is a perfect fit for our culture, innovative mindset and approach to client service. I look forward to seeing the positive impact he will have on our team members, processes and ability to service our clients at the highest level.”

Suffolk serves clients in every major industry sector, including health care, science and technology, education, gaming, transportation and commercial. It has $5 billion in annual revenue, 2,300 employees and main offices in Miami, West Palm Beach, Tampa, Estero, Boston, New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego.
