TAMPA — The Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce has launched a Minority Business Accelerator program.

The program is geared toward helping Black and Hispanic business owners identify and overcome barriers to company growth, according to a statement. It will provide participants with the tools and knowledge to cultivate business opportunities and referrals and raise their brand awareness and visibility, among other features, the release adds.

“One of the pillars of the chamber's 10-year vision plan is to be an inclusive organization,” Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce Chairman Mike Griffin says in the release. “The Minority Business Accelerator is the first program under that pillar and we are excited to launch the program in the first year of our vision plan.”

Recruitment for the program begins in August. The inaugural participants in the program will be announced at the Chamber's 132nd Annual Meeting scheduled for Dec. 14.
