It turns out that clunkers aren't just parked in the driveway. Sometimes, they're sitting on your head.
In a twist on the federal government “cash for clunkers” auto giveaway, Cape Coral entrepreneur Robert Galuzny is offering $500 for your old toupee in a deal for hair-challenged people.
Trade in the “clunker” hairpiece to Galuzny's company, Patricia Robert's Hair RX, and he'll take $500 off the $2,000 hair replacement treatment. Galuzny's ads, which play off the federal car-subsidy program, are starting to air this week on local radio stations in Cape Coral and Naples, where he's planning to open a second location.
Galuzny says it's too early to tell if the program is a success because the ads are just starting to run. But if the federal car program is any indication, he'll soon be shredding toupees — and needing to raise more cash.
