BRADENTON — City officials approved an agreement that allows the Central Community Redevelopment Agency to move forward with a retail commercial project near downtown Bradenton.

The Bradenton City Council approved an agreement that turns the deed of the property, on 13th Avenue West and First Street West, over to the CCRA. The 26,808-square-foot project, according to a release, will be anchored by an urban format Save-A-Lot grocery store.

Officials with the CCRA say developers of the project, the Minnie L. Rogers Plaza and Retail Center, include Endeavour Corp. of Milwaukee and the Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa. The CCRA says construction in the project could begin by the end of 2014.
