SARASOTA — A double lot on Bird Key in Sarasota has sold for $8.6 million — the top sale in Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties year-to-date, according to a press release.
The statement also says the sale is the highest sale ever recorded on Bird Key. The sale includes a luxury estate and an adjacent vacant lot. The estate is at 622 S. Owl Drive and the vacant lot is at 626 S. Owl Drive.
The Clifford Scholz-designed house was built in 2003. It has 230 feet of water frontage. The four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom home is 5,455 square feet.
Roger Pettingell of Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate represented the listings.
“The luxury market is exceptionally strong in 2018," says Pettingell in a statement. "Buyers of high-end properties are seizing the opportunity to buy Sarasota’s A-plus properties while they still exist."
