BUYER: Ocean Blvd LLC, Osprey

SELLER: The Kauffman Family Partnership #1 Ltd.

PROPERTY: 5214 Ocean Blvd., Sarasota

PRICE: $1.35 million

PREVIOUS PRICE: $100,000, January 1979

LAW FIRM ON DEED: Williams Parker Harrison Dietz & Getzen, Sarasota

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Local business owner Chris Brown and Mike Granthon purchased a retail development of 7,826 square feet in Siesta Key Village for $1.35 million.

The price equated to $173 per square foot.

The property features four commercial tenants, including Used Book Heaven, Mount-N-Repair and Bonjour French Cafe, and three residential units on the second floor. It was 100% occupied at the time of the sale. The sale also included 45 parking spaces in the rear of the buildings.

“It's just another quality addition on Siesta,” Brown says. “We have no plans for changes right now. Over time we will probably add some touches to the building, but nothing immediately. I like to accumulate as much Siesta Key real estate as possible.”

The two partners are best known as the owners of The Beach Club on Siesta Key.

Late last year, Brown purchased two Main Street office buildings, 1718 and 1734 Main St., Sarasota, for $2.8 million.
