The Branch Banking & Trust Corporation is preparing to get its name out in Tampa in a rather big way next month. The company more commonly known as BB&T will soon have its name atop the Park Tower office building located at 400 N. Tampa Street, according to a release.
BB&T has committed to a 10-year lease of 51,000 square feet of office space in the building, the release said. The space was previously occupied by Colonial Bank, which was recently acquired by BB&T.
The release cited the lease's value at approximately $11 million.
The newly leased property will become headquarters for David Gabarino, BB&T's Hillsborough Area Executive, and his team of commercial bankers.
