TAMPA — AVI-SPL, a company that specializes in audio and visual communications technology, is expanding its sales leadership force as it prepares for a potential revenue spurt in 2013, the company says in a statement.

The company has hired Tom Bigliani as senior vice president of sales for its east region, and has promoted Dale Bottcher to senior vice president of sales for the west region.

Bigliani and Bottcher have fostered the development of sales teams, says Don Mastro, executive vice president of sales, in the statement. "Both leaders help position AVI-SPL as a strategic partner for our customers.”

The changes are designed to help AVI-SPL grow in the coming year, says Mastro. The growth strategy stems from a market study on video communications that shows the potential for meeting the needs of key customers.

Bigliani formerly was with BT Conferencing, and worked with AVI-SPL legacy company SPL from 2004 to 2007. He was director of managed conferencing services, and architect of the company's national help desk.

Bottcher joined AVI-SPL in 2003, and also was part of the legacy SPL team. He helped spur growth in its Chicago office, according to the press release. More recently, he has played a key role in stimulating sales involving enterprise accounts and public sector clients, according to AVI-SPL.

Rhonda Wingate also joins AVI-SPL as the new senior vice president of enterprise and public sector accounts, taking over Bottcher's previous role, according to Mastro.

Based in Tampa, the company's services range from video conferencing to providing security and digital media products. It has developed hospital paging systems, and provided communications technology services to schools and corporations.
