NAPLES — Bonita Springs-based Discovery Senior Living has started construction on a $40 million residential project in Naples.

The company is building 120 units on 6.9 acres on Sierra Meadows Boulevard near the intersection of Collier Boulevard and Rattlesnake Hammock Road in Naples. The 120,000-square-foot building is located across from Physician's Regional Medical Center on Collier Boulevard.

When it's completed late in 2014, Discovery Village in Naples will have 30 independent-living apartments, 60 assisted-living apartments and 30 memory care units. The units will be built in wings centered on a clubhouse that will feature a dining establishment and onsite medical care, among other amenities.

Discovery hired Iowa-based Henning Group to manage the construction that was designed by Architectural Concepts of Largo.
