NAPLES — Construction has begun on a 34-acre apartment community in Naples that will have 340 units when completed.

Kaufman Lynn, one of the primary builders of the project, and EHC Inc., a Naples-based pre-construction, earthwork and infrastructure services firm, broke ground on the community in early May, according to a statement.

The project, Springs at Hammock Cove, is at the corner of Thomasson Drive and Tamiami Trail. Plans feature 14 two-story buildings with a total of 340 apartments, the release adds. The community will also offer an amenity center, pool, two pet playgrounds and a lake. Springs at Hammock Cove will also have 725 parking spaces in four parking garages and two parking lots.

EHC is providing lake excavation, erosion control, clearing, parking lots, asphalt, striping, traffic signs, concrete curbs and sidewalks, underground storm drainage and other work for the multimillion-dollar project. It’s EHC’s second multifamily project with Kaufman Lynn and fourth active apartment community development in Southwest Florida.

EHC was founded in 1990. It has about 100 employees, and had $23 million in revenues in 2016. It has completed hundreds of construction projects in excess of hundreds of millions of dollars for municipalities, developers, builders, owners and general contractors.
