SARASOTA — The Visit Sarasota County logo will be painted on a water tower on the east side of Interstate 75 between the University Parkway and Fruitville Road exits.

According to a YourObserver.com article, local tourism officials hope the tower will entice interstate drivers to stop in Sarasota. The Sarasota Observer is a sister paper of the Business Observer.

Painting began Aug. 11 and is expected to be completed Aug. 18. Two logos will be painted on the tower so they'll be visible to northbound and southbound drivers.

The logos also will be visible from Nathan Benderson Park, which will host the World Rowing Championship from Sept. 24 to Oct. 1.
