Visit Florida, the state's official tourism marketing corporation, released a list of finalists for the 2010 Flagler Awards. The Flagler Awards recognize outstanding efforts among local visitors bureaus to generate tourism business for the state.
Six of the 15 finalists are from the Gulf Coast area. The areas represented by the selected bureaus are: Bradenton; Charlotte Harbor; Lee County; Naples, Marco Island, Everglades; Sarasota; and St. Petersburg/Clearwater.
The finalists will compete for a “Best of Show” award from one of three categories, based on marketing budget: under $100,000; between $100,000 and $1 million; and above $1 million.
The award presentation event is open to the public. For more information is available at Visit Florida's website.
