VeteransPlus expands service

A Clearwater non-profit launches a new website to serve U.S. veterans.

CLEARWATER --┬áVeteransPlus, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that offers financial education services to veterans, launched a new website this week to help connect veterans to charitable organizations.'¨

The new site, called the Yellow Ribbon Registry Network, is a centralized online resource that connects veterans seeking assistance to multiple charities through one unified application process. The project was funded through a grant from The Ryder Charitable Foundation, a division of Ryder System Inc. (symbol: R). Ryder is a multi-billion dollar supply chain management firm based in Miami.

The Yellow Ribbon Network currently connects to nine charities for veterans, including USA Cares, Rebuild Hope and Blue Star Families.

VeteransPlus is headquartered in Clearwater. John Pickens is the non-profit's executive director.
