NAPLES – Two members of the board of commissioners of the Naples Airport Authority, Donna Messer and Michael Lenhard, have been reappointed by the Naples City Council. The board is comprised of five citizen volunteers who are appointed to four-year terms to oversee the Airport Authority.

First appointed to the board in 2014 and currently serving as chair, Messer is principal of Carl Ryan Associates, a Naples management consulting firm specializing in coaching, mentoring, team building and facilitation. She has also been affiliated with Kansas-based Overland Resource Group since 2008, consulting on labor management collaboration. She previously spent 30 years with American Airlines in a variety of executive positions.

Lenhard was appointed to a partial term in 2017 and is currently serving as vice chair. He retired from National Records Centers in Dallas, Texas, as president and CEO. He has more than two decades of experience in the records and information management industry. He is a private pilot and member of the Naples Pilots Association and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.

Naples Airport is home to flight schools, air charter operators, car rental agencies and corporate aviation and non-aviation businesses, as well as fire/rescue services, mosquito control, the Collier County Sheriff’s Aviation Unit and other community services. During the 2017-18 fiscal year, the airport reported 112,262 takeoffs and landings. The Florida Department of Transportation values the airport’s annual economic impact to the community at $283.5 million.
