NAPLES — Electric bicycle company Pedego Electric Bikes has opened two new stores in Naples.

The stores offer electric bikes sales, rentals, tours and accessories. Husband-and-wife owners Joe and Maria Britell opened a Naples North store on Tamiami Trail North and a Naples South store on Bayshore Drive. The Pedego South store will offer repair and maintenance service.

“Our two locations are 11 miles apart,” says Joe Britell in a statement. “The Naples area is large, and we want everyone to discover how much fun it is to go the distance on Pedego electric bikes.”

The Britell's stores are the 103rd and 104th stores for Pedego Electric Bikes. They discovered Pedego electric bikes after Joe Britell had an aortic valve replacement in 2014. According to a press release, his surgeon advised him to start moving and keep moving.

“I started riding Pedego bikes at Pedego South Norwalk in Connecticut, and I had so much fun while staying fit that I decided to come out of retirement and open Pedego Naples,” Joe Britell says in a statement.

Pedego manufactures 12 electric bike models. The bikes are sold at more than 100 Pedego stores as well as through independent electric bike dealers.
