Truck firm closes acquisition

TAMPA — Quality Distribution Inc. has completed its acquisition of Wylie Bice Trucking LLC, it says in a news release. In addition, the trucking firm is working to complete its acquisition of the operating assets and rights of RM Resources LLC.

Tampa-based Quality Distribution operates the largest chemical bulk tank truck network in North America, and also provides logistics and transportation services to the unconventional oil and gas industry through its subsidiaries, among other services.

Killdeer, N.D.-based Wylie Bice is a leading provider of transportation services to the unconventional oil and gas industry. In North Dakota, it has two trucking terminals and about 500 drivers. The business primarily uses independent contractors who use their own equipment.

Terms of Quality's acquisitions were not disclosed. Publicly traded (symbol: QLTY), the company's shares were trading at $9.93 per share Monday morning.
