What started as an idea for a local IT and management services firm in Tampa has now grown to several cities across the country and more than 300 employees and counting.
That company is Tribridge, a reference to the Tampa Bay area's three bridges. The founders thought of the name while on a boat in Tampa Bay in September 1998.
During the past 11 years, Tribridge has opened 12 new offices in new cities and acquired similar companies.
Some of the new offices were to serve clients. Some were to give the company better geographic coverage. Some were gained through acquisitions.
“We bought a small company for its CRM capabilities and have done a few acquisitions,” says Tony DiBenedetto, chief executive officer and chairman of Tribridge. “But it's been mainly organic growth.”
While size alone doesn't make a company successful, having capabilities and resources can, DiBenedetto says.
