TAMPA — Triad Retail Media and eBay Inc. have entered into an exclusive agreement, through which Triad will sell and manage all on-site display ads at eBay.com and eBay Motors.

EBay Inc. generated $9.2 billion in revenues last year, but despite growing the size of its business, profits fell 25% from 2009 to 2010. A new approach to its on-site display advertising may reverse that trend.

“We are excited to bring our custom retail media approach to eBay,” said Triad CEO Greg Murtagh. “The eBay community of users is going to see relevant and engaging content from the brands they love most, and brand advertisers are going to be able to connect in new ways with customers and prospective customers on eBay, the world's largest online marketplace.”

Murtagh was named the Business Review's Tampa Bay Entrepreneur of the Year in 2010. His company earned $70 million in 2009 revenues, with business more than doubling over the two prior years. The Tampa-based firm changed its name from Triad Digital Media to Triad Retail Media earlier this month.
