TAMPA — Trenam Law has expanded its health care practice with the appointment of Erin Smith Aebel and Kathleen Bickelhaupt as shareholders at the Tampa-based firm.
According to a press release, Trenam Law has also hired a new associate, Amanda Newlon, to work alongside Aebel and Bickelhaupt in the firm’s health care practice. All three attorneys practiced at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick’s Tampa office prior to joining Trenam.
“We are delighted to welcome Erin, Kathleen and Amanda to team Trenam,” Trenam Law President and Managing Shareholder Marie Tomassi states in the release. “The health care industry is a vital and essential part of the Tampa Bay community, and the addition of these attorneys further advances our commitment to excellent service for clients in this highly regulated sector.”
Aebel, the release states, has more than 20 years of experience representing physicians, hospitals, physician practice groups, diagnostic imaging centers, pharmacies, clinical laboratories, medical spas, concierge medical practices and other health care providers.
Bickelhaupt, according to the release, also brings more than two decades of experience to Trenam, having helped companies across a wide range of industries structure, negotiate and close transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings and business transactions.
“The combination of Kathleen’s extensive mergers and acquisitions experience and Erin’s broad-based health law knowledge make them a highly sought-after team for significant health care transactions,” Tomassi states in the release. “They look forward to growing their health care transactions practice at Trenam as leaders in this field. Their arrival builds on our existing group of talented attorneys who counsel in business and corporate related transactions, and healthcare regulation and compliance."
