TAMPA — Tampa Bay television station MOR-TV was ranked the top independent television station in the U.S. among adults from 25 to 54 years old and adults 18 to 49 years old from 6 to 8 p.m. in May.

MOR-TV was No. 1 in the top 25 Nielsen Local People Meter-derived ranking, which captures what channel television sets are tuned to and when.

“Our continued performance as the leading independent station is not only a result of our staffs' hard work and dedication, but also the amazing support of our viewers,” says WMOR-TV President and General Manager Pamela Barber in a statement.

The Hearst Television-owned station airs off-network comedies and dramas such as “The Big Bang Theory,” “Modern Family,” “Last Man Standing,” “Anger Management” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.”
