TAMPA — Davis Ventures Corp. won $7.5 million in contract work for a project based in New York City. The Tampa firm will help restore Victoria Towers, a 22-story high rise that sustained extensive wind and water damage in a tornado last year.
“This type of catastrophe requires not only a top notch construction firm, but also a company that can provide these services 20 stories in the air in a heavily populated area with zero or very little funding for the first year,” notes Tom Davis, president of Davis Ventures. Indeed, managing cash flows at the projects outset may pose a challenge to Davis' firm, for Lexington Insurance has not yet settled the claim on the Victoria Towers restoration.
Davis Ventures opened its doors for business in March 2010, and has since generated $6 million in revenues from local projects. The company says it expects to complete its work on Victoria Towers in early 2013.
