Tampa Bay inventory drops

In Tampa Bay, 3,218 single-family housing units are on the market as of the end of September, a 19% decrease from the same time a year ago. That total represents an 8.3-month supply of housing units, according to Metrostudy.

Closings totaled 1,216 in the third quarter, while construction began on 1,003 new houses, for a net decrease in inventory of 213 housing units.

Through the first nine months of the year, the Tampa Bay market has seen 22,548 single-family home sales, up 5.1% from a year ago.
