BUYER: Cheri-Lyn Inc. (principals: Robert and Anna Wodzisz), St. Petersburg

SELLER: Kazimierz and Maria Swol

PROPERTY: 11705 Gulf Blvd., Treasure Island

PRICE: $1.2 million

PREVIOUS PRICE: $800,000, January 1987

LAW FIRM ON DEED: Macfarlane Ferguson & McMullen, Clearwater

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: St. Petersburg motel owners Robert and Anna Wodzisz purchased the bayside 24-room Cheri-Lyn motel on Treasure Island for $1.2 million.

The price equated to $50,000 per unit.

“We were attracted by a combination of the location and the price,” Robert Wodzisz says. “It needs to be remodeled and the business needs to be brought up. The couple that owned it didn't do much with it in the summer. We are going to try to build up the Web site to attract that local customer.”

The Wodziszes plan to paint the exterior of the facility and change the lighting.
