TAMPA — SRI/Surgical Express Inc. (symbol: STRC) began 2011 with two new distribution agreements that will guarantee its products are sold to health care providers across the nation.
The Premier Healthcare Alliance, a Charlotte, N.C.-based group, agreed to purchase reusable surgical linen and gown reprocessing services from SRI. Premier represents a partnership of more than 2,400 U.S. hospitals and 70,000 other health-care sites.
Additionally, MedAssets Supply Chain Systems LLC signed a new three-year agreement with SRI for the provision of reusable surgical products, instrument programs, and a new SRI product called the Hybrid Preference Pack. The deal represents the second consecutive contract signed between the two companies.
Financial terms were not disclosed for either deal.
Last month, a pair of SRI shareholders contacted the company's board of directors, asking the firm's leaders to reconsider its growth strategy.
