Sky's the Limit

Downtown Sarasota is undergoing its most dramatic change in a decade with the construction of Five Points Plaza and the One Hundred Central/Whole Foods Centre.

Altogether, the two projects represent a capital investment of $130 million - $75 million for Five Points Plaza and $55 million for the One Hundred Central/Whole Foods Centre.

Though the two projects have different owners, the contractor for each is the same company - Naples-based Kraft Construction. Likewise, each project is expected to be completed about the same time - mid-2005.

For downtown Sarasota, though, the Five Points and Whole Foods projects are far from the end of what's to come. Main Street will also see the completion this year of Courthouse Centre at U.S. 301 and Main, also an office, retail and residential project.
