Doris and Steve Colgate have taught 130,000 people how to sail, but they're not finished.

The couple that owns Colgate's Offshore Sailing School recently announced they're expanding to the British Virgin Islands, one of the most popular sailing destinations in the Caribbean.

The Colgate school will be offering three- and five-day courses on learning how to sail at Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, the BVIs' newest luxury resort on the east end of the island of Tortola.

The BVIs are a popular sailing destination because the collection of more than 60 islands are located close to one another, offering sheltered coves within a day's sail. Scrub Island resort, operated by Marriott, opened in 2010 and has a 55-slip marina.

Cost for the five-day course is $2,525, including accommodations for six nights. The course is taught in half-day sessions so guests can have some island time to themselves.
