NAPLES — Vi at Bentley Village is preparing to undergo a $41 million transformation that will upgrade significant portions of the Naples senior living community when completed in early 2023, as is anticipated.

The improvements will revitalize Bentley Village’s skilled nursing center, known as the Bentley Care Center, as well as the community’s assisted living residences. The redevelopment is expected to begin during the third quarter of this year, the community says in a statement.

In addition to the skilled nursing and assisted living components, Vi at Bentley Village also contains independent living quarters and coach homes. At Bentley Care Center, the planned improvements will center on a redesign intended to heighten resident privacy by transforming all of the rooms into single-occupant rooms with private bathrooms.

The new rooms will be located on the second and third floors of an existing building, and a new wing will be developed for that purpose as well. Once completed, a total of 84 rooms will be available.

Additionally, therapeutic areas, multipurpose spaces and activity rooms will be enhanced to provide a greater level of services.

More specifically, a “Bentley Center for Living Well” featuring wellness, home health and therapy services will be added, and the 5,700-square-foot therapy building will include state-of-the-art physical and occupational therapy equipment, private treatment rooms and an outdoor therapy courtyard.

Parking areas, building entryways and exterior spaces at the care center also will be revamped as part of the overall redevelopment.

At Bentley Village’s assisted living residences, the renovations will increase capacity to 84 one-bedroom apartments, along with 15 memory-support apartments.

The refurbishment will also create new living and dining spaces with a lounge and bar, along with multipurpose, fitness and activity rooms. An existing courtyard will be re-envisioned to provide enhanced seating, shade structures and new landscaping.

“We are excited to announce this redevelopment because it shows our commitment to provide top-notch services and amenities to heighten our residents’ well-being,” says Penny Smith, Vi at Bentley Village’s executive director, in the statement.

“The expanded facilities will allow us to augment programs and activities that our dedicated employees implement as they care for our residents in these venues.”

Vi at Bentley Village premiered more than 30 years ago on 156 acres in Naples. Today the community contains the aforementioned residences, 12 miles of walking trails, an 18-hole, par-three golf course, a pro shop and more.
