TAMPA — Bell Partners Inc., a Greensboro, N.C.-based real estate investment firm, closed on the acquisition of Seaport Channelside on Friday, according to several temporary leasing agents and a Bell spokeswoman. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Seaport Channelside, a 422-unit apartment complex, will be the first property in Tampa Bay owned and managed by Bell. The company has brought agents from its third-party management operation in Clearwater to assist in the management transition. The move into Channelside is part of the company's plans to increase its presence in the Tampa and Orlando markets, the spokeswoman says.

Synergy Partners is the most recent property manager of the site. The Tampa-headquartered developer won the bid to develop the property in 2003 and started construction in 2007. Construction on the roughly 450,000-square-foot property, which also includes 27,000 square feet of storage, finished in 2008.
