Scott wants lease tax trimmed

As part of his $1 billion tax cut package this year, Gov. Rick Scott wants to trim the commercial lease tax beginning in January. Under a proposal, the tax would go from 6% to 5%, and be further reduced to 4% for 2018 and return to 5% the following year.

The governor's office expects the cut, if enacted by state lawmakers, would amount to $339 million over two years.
