TAMPA -- Savtira Corp. will sponsor the Outback Bowl in 2012, the company announced this week.
Savtira will be the title sponsor for two Outback Bowl events: the “Outback Bowl Savtira Pregame Show” on ABC, and the “Savtira Contract Signing,” a publicity event involving both head coaches and hundreds of civic and business leaders from the Tampa Bay community. Savtira did not disclose the amount of money it spent on the opportunity.
In April, Savtira CEO and Chairman Tim Roberts told the Business Review his company expects to generate $1 billion in sales in 2013 (see "Building on a Cloud," April 1). In August, the company said it would hire 265 employees over the next 18 months, paying an average wage exceeding $81,000. And in November, the Tampa-based firm added two celebrities to its board of directors: John Fanning, the first chairman of Napster, and Kelly Chase, a former NHL star.
