SARASOTA -- SouthTech Solutions and LEDS Computer Solutions plan to merge, effective Dec. 1. Both firms are based in Sarasota.

The combined entity generated $2.4 million in 2011 revenues, and will have 19 employees when the merger is complete. The new firm will retain the SouthTech Solutions name, a release explains. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Both companies provide software installation and IT support to small businesses. As SouthTech President Paul Hoffman explains, “SouthTech and LEDS are similar in many ways, but we haven't historically focused on the same market segments.”

Founded in 1994, SouthTech is headquartered on the corner of Tuttle Avenue and Fruitville Road. Lori Denny and Earl Denny created LEDS Computer Solutions in 1996.

The Observer Group is a client of SouthTech Solutions.
