Upscale furniture and household decor retailer Robb & Stucky International is scheduled to begin construction of the first phase of its new corporate headquarters, distribution center and assemblage facility in Fort Myers in early June.

The 125,000-square-foot project will shift the company's headquarters from the second floor of the retailer's existing Fort Myers' store to 10,000 square feet in the 16311 Lee Road project.

Eric Chien, a Robb & Stucky vice president and its CFO, says the new building will be completed in December.

“As we've continued to expand, we've found that we need more space,” Chien says. “The first phase of this project will result in one central warehouse for all of our Florida stores, even as we add more stores in the future.

“Fort Myers is the center of our market,” he adds. “The new building is also close to Interstate 75, so we will be able to go north or south to reach stores.”

Robb & Stucky acquired its 16-acre headquarters site last October for $2.8 million, in a deal in which the company was represented by LandQwest Commercial Real Estate Services founding principal John Mounce.

The retailer, which operates stores in Sarasota, Fort Myers, Coral Gables and Naples, will debut a showroom in Boca Raton this summer. The family of Samuel Kuo, the founder and CEO of Samson Holdings Ltd., has owned Robb & Stucky since 2011.
