NAPLES — A company that owns and runs restaurants in Naples and St. Petersburg recently announced plans to open a fourth eatery in Naples.

The Aielli Group is scheduled to open their latest concept, Grappino, sometime in late November in a space previously occupied by Timeless, at 90 Tamiami Trail North, according to a news release.

The release says Grappino's culinary concept will reflect the Venetian roots of chef and owner Fabrizio Aielli, as well as showcase a Grappa bar with over 100 varieties. Grappa is a grape-based pomace brandy of Italian origin which has gained a lot of popularity in recent years, especially in Europe. This Italian beverage is served chilled or room temperature and after dinner, however Grappino intends to utilize the large selection for special craft cocktails as well.

"Grappino combines the long tradition of Grappa and Italian cuisine with simple Italian comfort food,” corporate chef Jason Goddard says in the release. "The restaurant's culinary concept offers a lot of flexibility and choices for diners. Guests can pick between a variety of options from charcuterie, salads, bruschette, risotti and fritture. We will offer various shapes of pasta and different sauces for our diners to make their own pasta-sauce combinations.”

The restaurant group also owns and operates Sea Salt, Barbatella and Dorona eateries.
