SARASOTA — Mattison’s has partnered with local businesses to provide meals for local health care workers and first responders who are on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since March 30, Mattison’s has prepared and delivered 620 meals, according to a press release.
“This is a very trying time for many businesses but no one has it more difficult than the health care workers and first responders who are dealing with this unimaginable situation daily and often in close proximity to those who have the virus or may be contagious," says Chef Paul Mattison in the statement, "We want to help in any way we can to show them how much we support and appreciate what they are doing. Feeding people is what we know how to do and what we do well so when we asked ourselves, what can we do to help, it was a no-brainer.”
The release also says partnering with local businesses to sponsor the meals provides a simple way for them to be involved as a sponsor.
“We knew there were businesses expressing interest in wanting to help but just didn’t know how," says Mattison in a statement. "Many businesses are helping in other ways and we applaud everyone’s efforts to help our community deal with this terrible situation.”
Mattison’s will continue to provide meals as long as it has product to share. In addition to providing meals for hospitals, fire stations, police departments and health care facilities, Mattison’s also plans to donate meals to nonprofits that help the underserved in the community.
Mattison’s is looking for more businesses interested in partnering. Those interested in partnering with Mattison’s to sponsor meals for health care and front line workers can email [email protected] or call 941-713-3105.
