FORT MYERS -- A grand opening celebration has been scheduled for the Boston Red Sox' new spring training facility in Lee County.

Red Sox representatives will meet with Lee County commissioners at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 25 at the new facility -- known as JetBlue Park at Fenway South -- to kick off the spring season.

The team says Feb. 25 will also mark the baseball franchise's first full team workout of the 2012 season.

The Red Sox will play two exhibition games against college teams -- Northeastern University and Boston College -- on Saturday, March 3, followed by the team's Grapefruit League opener on March 4, against the Minnesota Twins.

JetBlue Park at Fenway South is located on Daniels Parkway, east of I-75. The taxpayer-funded $78 million stadium will seat more than 10,000 fans on game days.
