NAPLES — KOVA Cos., a full-service commercial real estate firm, has acquired two appraisal firms, Carlson, Norris and Associates Inc. and MPJ Real Estate Services Inc.
Operating as Carlson, Norris and Associates, the acquisition under the KOVA Appraisal & Consulting Services division will expand KOVA’s portfolio of valuation and advisory services, according to a statement. Former MPJ Real Estate Services Principal Michael Jonas is now managing director of Carlson, Norris and Associates, and is responsible for managing, reviewing and helping produce all work for clients, the release adds.
Combined, the acquired entities had more than 12 employees. Terms of the deals weren’t disclosed.
“Lee Norris and Bill Carlson of Carlson, Norris and Associates and Michael Jonas of MPJ Real Estate Services are three successful, seasoned professionals that understand the market and bring extensive knowledge to KOVA Cos.,” CEO and managing partner Anthony Emma says in the statement. “By bringing together these well-known names and their established reputations as market experts, KOVA can better serve clients statewide as a trusted appraisal partner.”
The firm’s appraisal offerings will now include a host of services, including real estate property appraisals, feasibility studies, market studies, investment analyses, tax appeals, probate appraisals, bank appraisals and litigation including expert testimony.
Jonas has been appraising commercial real estate since 1999 and has worked with many prestigious firms over his career in roles as a bank review appraiser and eminent domain expert witness. Bill Carlson and Lee Norris, founding partners of Carlson, Norris and Associates, will join Jonas in the expanded unit.
KOVA Companies was founded in 1990 as a privately owned, full-service commercial real estate firm. In addition to appraisal, its services include management, investment, insurance, brokerage, development, financing, golf management and hospitality.
