Plans, description: Rinker Materials, a West Palm Beach-based building materials company, bought 604 acres of citrus groves from Jack Berry. "We will lease the property back to the citrus grower for at least 10 years," says Paul Brittain, vice president of finance for Rinker's quarries division. However, Brittain says the land could one day be used to mine sand for concrete production.

Plans, description: Heron House Management of St. Petersburg transferred ownership of a 120-unit assisted-living facility in Fort Myers among related entities as part of a corporate restructuring, says Kerry Bingaman, the company's chief financial officer. Heron House currently manages five assisted living facilities in the state, including two that it owns.

Plans, description: South Bay Land and Development, a Naples-based real estate firm, bought 16.5 acres on Winkler Avenue Extension and plans to take it through the building-entitlement process on behalf of an undisclosed national builder. The current plan calls for 200 townhomes, says Clark Pear, managing director of South Bay Land. Pear says he expects the process to take about six months to one year.

The company plans to redo the façade and improve the space. "We're going to give it a facelift," says Kerry Trowbridge, Parker's senior vice president in Fort Myers. The center is fully leased.

Plans, description: Taylor Woodrow Homes, a British company with North American headquarters in Bradenton, bought eight acres at Mediterra, a Bonita Bay Group residential development in Naples. The site will allow 39 lots for luxury villas with average home prices of about $900,000. "We hope to start construction in April," says Mike Dady, vice president of acquisitions for Taylor Woodrow.
