FORT MYERS — Scott Fischer, longtime operator of Southwest Florida Harley Davidson dealerships and a national marketing and sales pioneer in the industry, is divesting some of his portfolio.

TMCFM Inc., The Motorcycle Company, acquired Fischer's Six Bends Harley-Davidson and Naples Harley-Davidson, according to a release, in a deal scheduled to close Jan. 10. Terms of the acquisition weren't disclosed.

The Veracka family, based in Citrus County, operates TMCFM, according to the Florida division of corporations records. The company owns six other Harley-Davidson dealerships nationwide. Those dealerships are in California, Colorado, Florida, Kansas and Massachusetts, and the portfolio includes Harley-Davidson of Palm Beach, which TMCFM purchased in 2016, according to PowerSports Business.

Fischer is president of Scott Fischer Enterprises, which operates the Six Bends and Naples dealerships, among other entities. The company had $96.6 million in revenue in 2016 and has about 265 employees. Fischer was the Business Observer's Entrepreneur of the Year in 2014, when he led the company to 30% year-over-year sales growth. He was inducted into the Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida Business Hall of Fame in 2012.

Scott Fischer Enterprises continues to own and operate its Harley dealerships in New Mexico and California, and will continue to own and operate Top Rocker Field and Events in Fort Myers, according to the statement.

“This has not been an easy decision, but after 30 years of ownership in Southwest Florida, the opportunity comes at an opportune time to allow me to focus on other business goals and my personal community foundation. Fort Myers is my home, and I will remain in the area and look forward to elevating my involvement in the community and the causes that I care about,” Fischer says in the statement.

Adds Fischer: “With the strong Harley brand behind the Southwest Florida stores and the accomplishments that have been achieved, it's poised for continued success. TMCFM Inc. have been industry friends of mine for more than 30 years, and they own other top-performing Harley-Davidson stores in the U.S. They bring great new energy, passion and a wealth of industry experience, and I'm excited for the opportunities ahead for the employees, customers and community.”
