The Gulf Coast chapter of the Public Relations Society of America is offering what it calls a “hardship plan” to unemployed or temporarily disabled members.

The group will reduce the annual membership fee from $225 to $115 (a savings of $110) to those who have been sidelined by the economic downturn or a medical issue. It's available to all chapters of the organization.

But this is a one-time deal, so don't let anyone lay you off again. Individuals can only get a break once over the course of their lifetime.
