Tampa-based hotel consultancy and brokerage The Plasencia Group has negotiated the sale of a Hampton Inn & Suites property in Fort Myers to an East Lansing, Mich., firm.

HRC Hotels LLC's purchase of the 102-room Hampton Inn, at 4350 Executive Circle, is in keeping with its strategy to expand its portfolio over the next three years, according to its website.

The company owns 20 select-service hotels in six states, including Indiana and Tennessee. In Florida, its only other property is also a Hampton Inn, in Clearwater.

HRC paid $13.9 million for the hotel on Jan. 18, according to Lee County records.

Plasencia Group CEO Lou Plasencia and vice presidents Nick Plasencia and Chris Plasencia represented seller NHR Investments LLC, of St. Louis, in the transaction.

“Hotel room demand in Southwest Florida continues to grow, while supply has been held in check,” says Chris Plasencia.

The Hampton Inn & Suites Fort Myers-Colonial Boulevard has earned Hilton Hotels Corp.'s Lighthouse Award each year since it opened, putting it in the top 5% of the chain's hotels in accommodations, service and quality. In all, Hilton and its affiliates operate more than 2,000 Hampton Inn properties nationwide.

Since 1999, Plasencia has sold more than 100 Hilton-branded hotels and resorts, and has sold in excess of 100 Florida lodging properties since its inception in 1993.
