BRADENTON — The Pittsburgh Pirates hired Jackie Riggleman as assistant general manager of the Bradenton Marauders.

According to a press release, Riggleman’s first day will be March 1. Craig Warzecha will officially assume the general manager role that same day. Warzecha has been the team’s assistant general manager since 2017.

“Jackie’s wealth of experience and familiarity with the Pirates organization make her well-suited to hit the ground running on March 1,” says Warzecha in a statement. “She is a great addition to our team as we prepare to celebrate the 10th season of Marauders baseball at LECOM Park.”

Riggleman spent four seasons with Rich Baseball Operations. Most recently, she was assistant general manager of the West Virginia Black Bears. The Black Bears, based in Morgantown, are the Class A Short Season affiliate of the Pirates.

Riggleman was a member of the inaugural Black Bears staff in 2015 and was promoted to assistant general manager in 2016. A press release says during her time with the Black Bears, she contributed to growth in ticket sales, corporate partnerships and player participation in the Morgantown community. She also oversaw merchandise sales, media relations and coordinated promotional theme night activities.

“I am excited about the move to Bradenton and look forward to both Pirates Spring Training and the 10th season for the Marauders,” says Riggleman in a statement. “I want to thank Rich Baseball Operations and the Black Bears for four great years and for the opportunity to prepare for this next step in my career.”
