VENICE — PGT Industries, an impact-resistant window and door manufacturer, hired two new executives.

One new hire for the Venice-based firm is Todd Antonelli, who was named vice president of sales and marketing. Antonelli was previously the director of sales for Masco Cabinetry.

“Todd's skill and experience positions PGT to be poised for growth when the market turns,” PGT President and CEO Rod Hershberger said in a release. “Our sales team has traditionally been developed from internal candidates. This particular move enables us to capitalize on a broader base of experience.”

The firm also hired Debbie LaPinska as vice president of customer relations — a new position. The company said the role is essentially a customer advocate position, and will reach across all levels and departments.

“Formalizing this position was a natural step as PGT is known for its customer centric culture,” Hershberger said in the release. “Selecting the ideal person for this position was critical because of its implications for customers and employees.”

PGT has about 1,000 employees. The publicly traded company (symbol: PGTI) reported first quarter earnings May 2. Net sales fell 6.3% from the 2011 first quarter, from $40.6 million last year to $38.1 million in 2012.
