FORT MYERS — The Lee County Board of Port Commissioners has elected Cecil Pendergrass as the chairman for 2013.

Pendergrass recently won election to the Lee County commission. He appointed fellow newly elected County Commissioner Larry Kiker to be vice chairman of the airport board.

Both Pendergrass and Kiker were elected to the county commission in November on pro-business platforms. Port commissioners set policy and direct the operations of Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field in Fort Myers.

Through November, nearly 6.7 million passengers passed through Southwest Florida International Airport.
